# Antigravity IDE
Antigravity IDE is the agentic IDE surface of the [[Google Antigravity]] platform — the original Antigravity product, first introduced in December 2025 as an "agentic software development IDE."
## What it is
An IDE built around AI agents rather than bolted onto a traditional editor. Agents plan and execute development work — features, fixes, refactors — while the developer supervises. It is one expression of the [[Agentic Development Environment (ADE)]] idea. After the Google I/O 2026 platform release it became one of four surfaces over a single shared agent harness, alongside [[Antigravity 2.0]], [[Antigravity CLI]], and [[Antigravity SDK]].
## Where it sits
The I/O 2026 release added a standalone agent-first desktop app ([[Antigravity 2.0]]) described as separate from this IDE. The relationship between the two is not crisply documented — both are listed as distinct platform surfaces.
## Caveats
- The boundary between Antigravity IDE and the Antigravity 2.0 desktop app is unclear from launch materials; check current docs before treating them as fully separate products
