# Claude Design Claude Design is an [[Anthropic]] Labs product that turns natural-language conversations into visual work — designs, prototypes, slides, one-pagers. Launched April 17, 2026, powered by [[Claude Opus 4.7]], available in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise (out of beta and on every plan since October 2026, see below). It reads your codebase and design files during onboarding to build a reusable design system, so brand assets auto-apply to every project. Inputs: text prompts, uploaded docs (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX), codebase references, captured website elements. Refinement: chat for broad changes, inline comments for targeted tweaks, sliders for spacing/color/layout. Outputs: URL share, folder, Canva, PDF, PPTX, standalone HTML, or handoff bundle to [[Claude Code]]. The killer move is the [[Claude Code]] handoff — design in Claude Design, then ship the implementation in Claude Code without re-describing the spec. Since September 2026, Claude Design is integrated into the main Claude app, which also absorbed [[Claude Cowork]]. You ask for a slide, a design or a doc in a regular conversation, without switching tabs or apps. ## Out of beta, standalone site closing (October 2026) On 2026-10-08, Anthropic took the beta label off Claude Design, Claude Docs and Claude Slides. All three are available on every plan, Free included; on Enterprise plans they turned on by default on 2026-10-15. According to Anthropic, people made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude since these outputs arrived in every conversation in September. What shipped with it: - CMEK (customer-managed encryption keys) for artifacts, and admins choose which artifact templates their organization uses - Your team and Claude can work on the same doc, deck or design - Sharing outside your organization, or with anyone who has the link, if your admin allows it - PowerPoint and PDF exports that look like what you made in the editor, and decks that go to Google Slides as editable files - Editing from the Claude mobile app The standalone site at claude.ai/design closes on 2026-12-14 and redirects to Claude after that. Anthropic's reason: running two versions slows down fixes for both. New designs, design systems and slide decks made in Claude are artifacts. To move over, click "Migrate team design systems" on the Artifacts page. One run brings every design system of the organization over, and the originals stay unchanged in the standalone version until it closes. Design systems that are too large, or hold files an artifact can't use, end up in a "Couldn't be migrated" list with the reason. Migrated design systems can't be edited by hand yet (you ask Claude to change them). Projects keep working in the standalone version until closing day. Chats with Claude, comments on projects and public links to standalone projects won't survive it, so save what you need before 14 December.
