# Coherence bias
Once we have expressed ourself publicly about a topic, we tend to remain coherent, aligned with what we have expressed before. We want to appear as coherent and rational actors.
The origin of that bias is the fact that incoherent behavior is considered as abnormal, faulty, weak.
We need to consider that credibility and relevance can both be improved through honesty and transparency. We need to be willing to question our beliefs and opinions. And we need to be willing to recognize our mistakes. Humility is key.
