# Considering the complexity and wholeness of situations The situations we experience in our lives are complex. Some more than others of course. But in most situations, there are various factors at play. The environment, your state of mind, the state of mind of others, the past, anticipation about the future, etc. Our brains constantly run a simulation of the real world, based on observations and interpretations. Those are always incomplete, biased. So our inner simulation of reality is always off. We need to over-simplify reality, and it creates important biases. We analyze situations and fail to consider the complexity of the real world and the wholeness of the situations we face. One way to limit the bias is to suspend judgement for long enough to be able to gather more information, more facts, consider more, etc.
