# Content creation growth strategies
## Nicolas Cole
Some strategies shared by [[Nicolas Cole]] in [[The Art and Business of Online Writing (book)]]:
1) Audience hacking
- Collaborate with other writers: interviews, co-authoring, interviews, testimonials, ...
2) Hijack trends. Take advantage of those.
3) Engagement hacking. Engage with other people’s audiences. Get your name next to theirs
4) Hash/tag strategy. Use popular relevant tags to help people discover you. Tags organize information. Identify the tags popular writers use. Then, create your own and track their appeal/success. Use both broad and narrow/niche tags
5) Publish once on each platform, and share many times on social media
6) Write timeless content more than you write timely content
7) Reuse content. Delete the original, refine/adapt/improve it, and publish it again. Or even create a new piece altogether
8) Reach out to websites and publications to let them know that you have valuable content for their audiences; let them syndicate your content. It will give you free marketing, exposure, and more credibility. You can also brand your own website as a publication and forge syndication partnerships with other sites and publications.
9) Use storytelling to shift how other people perceive you and your work. Keep this in mind: [[The internet is a perception game]]
