# Daily Echoes plugin for Obsidian
Daily Echoes, by Wojciech Polak, brings your old daily notes back. It opens in the right sidebar (ribbon icon or the "Daily Echoes: Open view" command) and lists your entries from earlier years for the same day, a ±3-day window, the same month or the same day of the month, each labelled "2 years ago". A Year view lists a whole year of notes, newest first.
There's nothing to configure: it reads the folder and the date format from your core [[Daily notes core plugin for Obsidian|Daily notes]] or [[Periodic notes plugin for Obsidian|Periodic Notes]] settings. The "Include other notes" setting extends it to non-daily notes, dated by a frontmatter date, the file name or the creation time.
It's what I'd use instead of the [[Reflection plugin for Obsidian|Reflection]] plugin, which is barely maintained and needs Periodic Notes. Obsidian staff haven't reviewed it manually yet.
