# Design Thinking Another name for [[User-centered Design]]. Design Thinking refers to a set of approaches used by designers when designing. And it also relates to all the knowledge about how people reason when they engage with design problems. It's also the name of a set of principles/ideas about innovation (products & services). Many ideas behind Design Thinking date back from the 1950s and 1960s. It has roots in design cognition and design methods. It was developed by Stanford's dschool (cfr [[Design Thinking Process]]). Thanks to [[Bill Burnett]] and [[Dave Evans]], Design Thinking has also been applied to [[Life Design]] and [[Career Design]], who wrote books about these topics and leverage their knowledge and expertise about Design Thinking to design an approach for life and career design. ## Related - [[Design Thinking Process]] ## References - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_thinking - https://dschool.stanford.edu
