# Duck syndrome
People suffering from this syndrome often experience suffering from clinical depression, anxiety and/or other mental illnesses.
Risk factors include stress, personal and familial tendencies to over-emphasize achievement, and family overprotection.
Depression, anxiety and mental illness can predispose people to develop duck syndrome.
Symptoms include appearing placid on a superficial level, while frantically yet covertly failing in attempts to keep up with the overwhelmind demans placed upon them, and feeling that everyone else is faring better.
