# ElevenLabs ElevenLabs is a SaaS platform for generating audio using AI (text to speech, AI voice generator). ElevenLabs supports: - Text to speech (single or multiple voices, many languages, etc) - Voice changing - Voice cloning (i.e., clone your own voice) - Dubbing - Text to SFX They also expose an API. In June 2026, they also released mobile applications for iOS and Android. ## MCP server ElevenLabs provides a [[Model Context Protocol (MCP)]] server, so AI assistants can work with your ElevenLabs workspace. There are two flavors: - **Local MCP server** (2025): runs on your machine with your own API key. Still available for developer workflows - **Hosted MCP server** (August 2026): run by ElevenLabs, and available in [[Claude]] as a verified connector. You sign in with OAuth, so there's no API key to manage, and you can revoke access at any time from your MCP client or your ElevenLabs account settings The hosted server is focused on **ElevenLabs Agents** (voice and chat agents). From [[Claude]], [[Claude Code]], or any MCP client, you can: - Review how agents performed recently (e.g., surface topics from recent conversations) - Create new agents, or duplicate one for a new market with a different voice and first message - Update configurations: system prompt, voice, language model - Estimate LLM costs before changes go live Setup: - Claude Desktop: Settings > Connectors, search for ElevenLabs, click Connect, and complete the OAuth flow - Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http elevenlabs https://api.elevenlabs.io/v1/mcp`, then run `/mcp` in a session to sign in Keep in mind that the connector has **write access to production agents**. A confirmation in a chat window is not a tested deployment.
