# Equalization tips
## Tips from Musicianonamission.com
- Cut before you boost
- If you want the vocals to sound warmer, cut the highs (6-10kHz)
- Cut elements of the voice that you don't like
- Apply cuts before compression and boosts after
- Never cut more than 5dB
- Or the vocals won't sound natural anymore
- Cut everything below 50Hz
- Hulman voices are centered between 120-250Hz (depending on whether the person is male or female)
- If the sound is muddy, try to cut 3-5dB around 100-300Hz
