# ExcaliBrain plugin for Obsidian ExcaliBrain is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by [[30 Areas/36 People/Zsolt Viczián|Zsolt Viczián]], the author of the [[Excalidraw plugin for Obsidian|Excalidraw plugin]]. It shows an interactive, structured mind map around the current note: parents, children, siblings and friends. It infers relationships from your links: - notes that link to the current note are parents - notes it links to are children - mutual links are friends - it also shows siblings You can make relationships explicit with Dataview-style fields, for example `Author:: [[Isaac Asimov]]`, and choose in the settings which field names mean parent, child or friend. The map follows the note you're on, and it works best with the [[Hover Editor plugin for Obsidian|Hover Editor]] plugin, so you can preview notes from the map. It requires the [[Dataview plugin for Obsidian|Dataview]] and Excalidraw plugins. Zsolt now ships [[K-Plex plugin for Obsidian|K-Plex]] as a new take on the same idea (parents above, children below, related notes on the sides), without those dependencies. ## References - Source code: https://github.com/zsviczian/excalibrain - Community plugin page: https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=excalibrain ## Related - [[The Complete Guide to Obsidian Search - Find Any Note When You Need It (Article)]] - [[Navigate Your Obsidian Vault - Links, Graphs, Bookmarks and Hubs (Article)]] - [[K-Plex plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Excalidraw plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Dataview plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Breadcrumbs plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Clew plugin for Obsidian]] - [[30 Areas/36 People/Zsolt Viczián|Zsolt Viczián]]
