# Find-n-Replace plugin for Obsidian Find-n-Replace, by gapmiss, brings the search sidebar of VS Code to Obsidian: vault-wide find and replace, with results grouped by file and a preview of each change as you type. Run "Find-n-Replace: Open" from the command palette to start. - Match case, whole word, regex and multiline toggles. Replacements support `$1`, `amp;` and the other capture tokens - Replace one match, the matches you selected, every match in a file, or every match in the vault - "Files to include" and "files to exclude" filters, by extension, folder or wildcard - It searches Markdown and other text files too (`.txt`, `.css`, `.json`, `.csv`, etc.) Careful: it edits your files directly, and you can't undo a replacement from inside the plugin. Commit or back up before large runs. Obsidian staff haven't reviewed it manually yet. It's one of the two replacements I suggest for the stale [[Global Search and Replace plugin for Obsidian|Global Search and Replace]]. ## References - Source code: https://github.com/gapmiss/find-n-replace - Community plugin page: https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=find-n-replace ## Related - [[The Complete Guide to Obsidian Search - Find Any Note When You Need It (Article)]] - [[The Best Obsidian Plugins for Finding Notes (Article)]] - [[Global Search and Replace plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Regex Replace plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Regular Expressions (Regex)]] - [[Search core plugin for Obsidian]]
