# Fleeting notes
The concept of fleeting notes comes from the [[Zettelkasten method]].
Fleeting notes are temporary notes. Those are similar to back-of-the-napkin notes, Post-It notes, etc. They're *raw*. They can contain your own words and/or things you have copied verbatim from elsewhere. They don't have to be complete, structured, or anything like that. Their goal is just to capture "something". Those are generally stored in a single inbox, which needs to be reviewed from time to time. Once processed those are either thrown away, or converted to [[Literature notes]] and/or [[Permanent notes]].
