# Flow Being in the flow or in the zone is when our [[Attention]] is fully focused on one thing. Flow is the experience we have when we are completely immersed in an activity for its own sake, stretching body and mind to the limit in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile. It's a sense of effortless action that we feel in moments that stand out as the best in our lives. Characterized and studied by [[Mikaly Csikszentmihalyi]] for 30 years at the University of Chicago. We get in the zone much easier when we're interested, engaged, energized, and using our strengths. Requires experience and practice.
