# Grappling Hook plugin for Obsidian Grappling Hook is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by Chris Grieser (pseudometa) for switching files faster than with the [[Quick switcher core plugin for Obsidian|Quick switcher]]. It gives you one-key jumps between your bookmarked files, your previous note, and the next or previous file in a folder. Assign hotkeys to its commands: - `Bookmark cycler` goes through your bookmarked files, most recently modified first. With text selected, it copies the selection to the last-modified bookmark instead, which is a quick way to collect snippets into a working note - `Switch to Alternate Note` goes back to the note you were on before (like `:b#` in [[Vim]]). The name of that note is shown in the status bar - `Next/previous file in current folder` walks a folder without the file explorer - `Cycle tab/split` and `Open first URL in file` round it out It pairs well with the [[Bookmarks core plugin for Obsidian|Bookmarks core plugin]]: keep your working set in bookmarks, and cycle through it. Bookmarked headings and blocks are ignored by the cycler. It runs on mobile. Its author has been archiving several of his plugins, so check its status from time to time. ## References - Source code: https://github.com/chrisgrieser/grappling-hook - Community plugin page: https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=grappling-hook ## Related - [[The Complete Guide to Obsidian Search - Find Any Note When You Need It (Article)]] - [[Navigate Your Obsidian Vault - Links, Graphs, Bookmarks and Hubs (Article)]] - [[Bookmarks core plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Quick switcher core plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Quick Switcher plus plus plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Another Quick Switcher plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Recent files plugin for Obsidian]]
