# Jump to link plugin for Obsidian
Jump to link is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by mrjackphil. It puts letter hints on every link in the current note, like Vimium does in a browser. Type the letters and you follow the link. It's the fastest way I know to walk links from the keyboard.
How to use it:
- Run `Jump to link: Show link hints`. It no longer ships with a default hotkey, so assign one
- Hold `Shift` while typing the letters to open the link in a new pane
- "Jump to anywhere" puts the hints on words instead of links, using a regular expression you can change (by default `\b\w{3,}\b`, i.e. words of three letters or more)
- [[Vim]] users can map its Lightspeed mode in their `.obsidian.vimrc`: `exmap jumpToLink obcommand mrj-jump-to-link:activate-lightspeed-jump`
On a hub note or a [[Map of Content (MoC)|MoC]] with dozens of links, this turns "find the link, grab the mouse, click" into a hotkey and two letters.
If a note has more links than available hint characters, some hints show as `undefined`. It also runs on mobile.
