# Kaizen
_**Kaizen**_ ([Japanese](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_language "Japanese language"): 改善, "improvement") is a concept that refers to continuous improvement activities. The goal of Kaizen is to improve functions, products, companies, processes, logistics, etc. One of the goals of Kaizen is to eliminate waste and redundancies.
Kaizen was first introduced by [[W. Edwards Deming]]. He went to Japan to help improve their production processes. He stressed that quality should be prioritized at every stage of production, and achieved through statistical process control.
