# Link Structure plugin for Obsidian
Link Structure is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by Dmitry Fert. It adds a "Structure" view to [[Obsidian Bases]]: a tree of notes built from an `up` property (e.g. `up: "[[Parent]]"`), and the Base's filters decide what goes in it.
And you edit the hierarchy right from the tree:
- Drag a note to re-parent it, and the links update
- `Ctrl`+drag adds a second parent instead of replacing the first one. A note with several parents appears in several branches
- With the view in the sidebar, the "reveal active file" button cycles through every place the current note appears
- The property name is configurable per view
The author's reason for building it: there's "nothing comparable to the file manager for link-based hierarchies. The closest alternative is Breadcrumbs, but it's read-only." Breadcrumbs gives you typed hierarchies and a trail at the top of each note; Link Structure is the Bases-native take, and you can change the hierarchy by dragging.
It's in the official plugin directory (no need for [[BRAT plugin for Obsidian|BRAT]]), but it hasn't been manually reviewed by the Obsidian team. Complex [[Templater plugin for Obsidian|Templater]] templates can conflict with it.
