# Motivation systems in living organisms
There are various [[Motivation (MoC)|Motivation]] systems in living organisms:
- Systems that push our organism to maintain certain levels of energy
- Eating
- Systems that push our organisms to maintain its temperature
- Systems that push us to maintain our physical integrity
- Systems that push us to mate with others for reproduction
Roboticists have built machines with built-in motivation systems, giving them more autonomy, but key "guidelines" about what state to maintain/target.
