# Multi Properties plugin for Obsidian
Multi Properties is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by technohiker. It adds, edits or removes [[Obsidian Properties|properties]] on many notes at once. It's the tool for bulk fixes, when consistent metadata is what keeps your Bases filters and queries reliable.
You can target:
- A folder: right-click it in the file explorer (sub-folders optional)
- A selection of files (`Shift`+click or `Ctrl/Cmd`+click, then right-click)
- Search results: right-click the search pane to change every matching note
- The current note, or all open tabs in the active tab group (by command)
When a property already exists, you choose whether to overwrite it, append to it (text and lists), or leave it alone. To remove properties, it lists every property found in the selected notes and you pick which ones go. A "default properties file" can pre-fill the form.
It writes to all those notes at once, so back up first. For renaming a value across the vault, [[Bases Toolbox plugin for Obsidian|Bases Toolbox]] is a better fit; for tags, [[Multi Tag plugin for Obsidian|Multi Tag]].
