# Multi-Vault Navigator plugin for Obsidian Multi-Vault Navigator, by Hir43th, is the only plugin I found that searches across vaults from inside Obsidian. Core Obsidian stops at the vault boundary: Search, the quick switcher, backlinks, the graph and Bases never see your other vaults. What it adds: - Fuzzy search over all your vaults (it reads Obsidian's vault list), with filters per vault - Read-only previews of notes from other vaults, in a tab of the current one - Cross-vault backlinks, and `VaultName::NoteTitle` wikilinks rendered as clickable links in Reading view - A "Copy to current vault" action (the source vault is never modified) - Recent files across all your vaults Everything stays local, with no telemetry. But it's young, desktop only, has a tiny user base, and Obsidian staff haven't reviewed it manually yet. Promising, but test it on a copy first. My actual advice: keep one [[Obsidian Vault|vault]]. If you want separation, do it inside that vault with folders, excluded files and [[Workspaces core plugin for Obsidian|workspaces]]. ## References - Source code: https://github.com/finarfin12/Multi-Vault-Plugin-Obsidian - Community plugin page: https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=multi-vault-navigator ## Related - [[The Complete Guide to Obsidian Search - Find Any Note When You Need It (Article)]] - [[Search Your Obsidian Vault From Outside Obsidian (Article)]] - [[Obsidian Vault]] - [[Workspaces core plugin for Obsidian]] - [[Search core plugin for Obsidian]]
