# Multitasking Multitasking is the antithesis of [[Productivity (MoC)|Productivity]]. While it may seem efficient to juggle multiple tasks at once, research has shown that multitasking often leads to decreased performance and increased errors. The human brain is not designed to handle multiple streams of information simultaneously. When we attempt to multitask, what we're really doing is rapidly switching our attention from one task to another, switching between different [[Mental context|mental contexts]]. And there is a tax to pay each time we do that.
