# NotebookLM > **Renamed to Gemini Notebook on 16 July 2026.** Same product, folded into the [[Gemini]] brand. This note keeps the original title since that is the name most people still use, with `Gemini Notebook` as an alias. NotebookLM is a tool created by Google, which is built on top of Gemini 1.5. With it, it's possible to create notes, get AI insights, upload and analyze documents, etc. More interestingly, NotebookLM is able to generate audio conversations based on notes in a notebook. This is an incredibly powerful way to explore and learn new things. Collect sources, notes, ideas, and combine them all into a podcast using AI. NotebookLM is multi-modal.
