# Permanent notes The concept of permanent notes comes from the [[Zettelkasten method]]. Permanent notes are your own content, your own ideas, using your own words. The ideas may be inspired or coming from elsewhere, but if those are in your permanent notes, then it means that you have rephrased those, enhanced, changed, modified, etc. Those notes will remain in your [[Digital garden]] for a long time (even forever in some cases). They are also [[Evergreen notes]]: notes that you will revise, improve, extend, and connect with other ones over time. ## Related - [[Zettelkasten method]] - [[Literature notes]] - [[Fleeting notes]] ## References - [[How to Take Smart Notes (book)]] - https://writing.bobdoto.computer/what-is-a-permanent-note-correcting-some-common-misunderstandings/ by [[Bob Doto]]
