# Quick Explorer plugin for Obsidian
Quick Explorer is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by PJ Eby (pjeby). It adds a clickable folder breadcrumb above each note. Each segment opens a menu with the sibling files and folders, and you can type to filter. It's the best answer I know to "what else is next to this note?".
It adds six commands you can bind to hotkeys: `Browse vault`, `Browse current folder`, and `Go to next/previous/first/last file in folder`. In the menus, use the arrow keys, Vim keys (`Mod+h/j/k/l`) or Emacs keys (`Mod+n/p/f/b`). When you enter a folder, its folder note is selected automatically.
There's also a "quick-preview mode": press `PgDn` to page through every note in a folder like a notebook. That's a fast way to skim a project folder you haven't opened in months.
Two caveats:
- It's desktop only
- It's only useful if your folders actually mean something, and its breadcrumbs overlap with what [[Notebook Navigator plugin for Obsidian|Notebook Navigator]] gives you
