# SQLSeal plugin for Obsidian SQLSeal is an [[Obsidian]] community plugin by h-sphere that lets you query your vault with [[SQL]]. You write `sqlseal` code blocks, and you can query files, tags and tasks, or load a CSV file from your vault as a table (`TABLE transactions = file(transactions.csv)`) and run regular `SELECT` statements on it. If you already know SQL and find the [[Dataview plugin for Obsidian|Dataview]] query language or [[Obsidian Bases]] filters limiting, this is the tool to try. Tables defined in one block can be reused by other blocks in the same note. One caveat: it's not read-only. The README warns that it writes variable values into `.sql`/`.sqlseal` files, and that interacting with the `tasks` table updates the source Markdown files.
