# Slack Code **Slack Code brings agentic coding directly into Slack: you ask for work in a channel, agents do it, and the conversation IS the interface.** Announced by Salesforce in 2026. Why it matters: millions of teams already live in Slack. If the channel becomes the place where you brief, steer, and review agent work, then a separate agent app has to justify its existence. The counter-argument writes itself though. A chat thread is a terrible plane of record. No state machines, no typed work, no audit trail you can grep. The pattern it proves: team members talking to project agents where the team already talks. ## References - https://www.salesforce.com/introducing-slack-code/ ## Related - [[Buzz]]
