# Wayback Archiver plugin for Obsidian Wayback Archiver, by ishizueitaro, automates the fix for [[Link rot|link rot]]. It scans the current note, a selection or the whole vault for web links, saves a snapshot of each one through the Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) API, and appends an "(Archived on …)" link next to the original. You can also have it replace the original link instead. Setup: you need API keys from your archive.org account. Failed attempts go to a log, and you can retry them later. Why bother? Pages disappear. When a source you cited is gone, the archived copy is often the only way to check what it said. It's the maintained alternative to the older [[Link Archive plugin for Obsidian|Link Archive]]. ## References - Source code: https://github.com/ishizueitaro/obsidian-wayback-archiver - Community plugin page: https://obsidian.md/plugins?id=wayback-archiver ## Related - [[The Complete Guide to Obsidian Search - Find Any Note When You Need It (Article)]] - [[Search Your Obsidian Vault From Outside Obsidian (Article)]] - [[Link rot]] - [[Link Archive plugin for Obsidian]]
