# What are your personal principles
We’re all under a lot of pressure, individually, and collectively. As the pace of change accelerates, it becomes easier and easier to lose sight of what truly matters to _us_. Personal principles, along with our values are a core part of our personal identity. Beyond our values, a key element to bring back clarity in our life is to clearly define our principles. In reality, personal principles are an extension of personal values.
> [[Personal principles enable converting values into action]]
Personal principles are the rules you want to live by. They’re your beliefs and standards. They act as the moral and ethical compass that deeply influences your choices, behavior, and interactions. **They help you maintain a sense of authenticity and integrity**.
> [[Principles are recipes for success]]
Importantly, they have to align with your values. Otherwise, you will never feel _whole_, and you won’t be able to act _naturally_.
Most of those are unconscious and “automatic”, in the sense that we live by those, without really knowing. Some are obvious and known to us, but some are not as obvious.
The great news is that, apart from your environment/education/bias conditioning, **you get to pick or create your own principles. And once you do, you will be able to use those to initiate _changes_ in your behavior and life**.
So… **What are your personal principles?**
