# Alex Blania Alex Blania is a German entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of Tools for Humanity, the company behind Worldcoin (now World) and its proof-of-personhood infrastructure built around iris-scanning biometrics. The project was co-founded with Sam Altman. Worldcoin's stated thesis is that as AI makes it increasingly hard to distinguish humans from machines online, a privacy-preserving proof of personhood becomes foundational infrastructure for digital identity, fair airdrops, and Universal Basic Income experiments.
