# Bertrand Vergely ![[50 Resources/51 Attachments/51.03 Public/2026-02-04 Bertrand Vergely.jpg|400]] Bertrand Vergely (born 1954) is a French philosopher, theologian and essayist. He is the son of Charles Vergely, a member of the resistance since 1940 who was deported, and Colette Vergely, who is known for having held one of the last Parisian salons. A former student of the École normale supérieure de Saint-Cloud and agrégé in philosophy, he teaches in preparatory classes at Lycée Pothier in Orléans and is a lecturer in moral theology at the Institut de théologie orthodoxe Saint-Serge.
