# Chris Argyris ![[50 Resources/51 Attachments/51.03 Public/2025-08-23_Chris_Argyris.jpg|400]] Chris Argyris (July 16, 1923 – November 16, 2013) was an American business theorist and professor at Yale School of Management and Harvard Business School. He is widely regarded as the father of organizational learning and a co-founder of organization development. Argyris was known for his seminal work on learning organizations, double-loop learning, and action science. Argyris came to Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1971 as the James Bryant Conant Professor of Education and Organizational Behavior, with dual appointments at both HGSE and Harvard Business School.
