# Christian Tietze
Christian Tietze is a German indie software developer and writer best known for co-founding [zettelkasten.de](https://zettelkasten.de) with Sascha Fast, the long-running site that introduced the Zettelkasten method to the English-speaking PKM community. He develops note-taking and writing software for macOS — most notably The Archive, a plain-text Zettelkasten app — and has written books and essays on plain-text productivity, software craft, and knowledge work. In a 2014 post on zettelkasten.de he named and popularized the [[Collector's fallacy]] — the mistake of confusing the act of collecting information with the act of understanding it — a concept that has shaped how the modern PKM community thinks about capture discipline.
