# Christopher Nolan Christopher Nolan (born 30 July 1970) is a British-American filmmaker known for narratively complex, large-format films. His work includes Memento, Insomnia, The Prestige, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer. He co-founded the production company Syncopy with producer Emma Thomas. He is known for favouring practical effects over digital ones, shooting on IMAX and large-format film, and for non-linear narrative structures that play with time and subjective perspective.
