Felix Dennis (27 May 1947 – 22 June 2014) was an English publisher, poet, spoken-word performer, and philanthropist. His company, Dennis Publishing, pioneered computer and hobbyist magazine publishing in the United Kingdom. Dennis rose to prominence as co-editor of the underground magazine Oz in the 1960s, which led to the famous "Schoolkids Oz" obscenity trial. He later founded a publishing empire that included successful magazines like Maxim, The Week, Computer Shopper, and many others.
Dennis became a multimillionaire through his keen ability to spot emerging trends in publishing. In his later years, he discovered a passion for poetry and became a best-selling poet with works like "A Glass Half Full" and "How to Get Rich." He was also a noted philanthropist, founding The Heart of England Forest charity and planting over one million trees. Dennis died of throat cancer at age 67.
