# Jeff Sutherland ![[50 Resources/51 Attachments/51.03 Public/2026-02-12 Jeff Sutherland.jpg|400]] Jeff Sutherland is an American software developer who co-created Scrum with [[Ken Schwaber]]. A former USAF fighter pilot who flew over 100 missions in Vietnam, he later earned a PhD and transitioned to software development. He was one of the 17 original signatories of the [[Agile Manifesto]]. Sutherland created the first Scrum team at Easel Corporation in 1993 and is CEO of Scrum Inc.
