# Kay Sievers ![[50 Resources/51 Attachments/51.03 Public/2026-05-04 Kay Sievers.jpg|400]] German software developer, best known as the co-creator of [[systemd]] alongside [[Lennart Poettering]] and as the primary author of udev, the device manager for the [[Linux]] kernel. He worked at SUSE and later at Red Hat. Sievers rewrote the original udev implementation and maintained it for years before it was merged into the systemd project.
