# Khalil Gibran ![[2025-08-23_Khalil_Gibran.png]] Gibran Khalil Gibran (January 6, 1883 – April 10, 1931), known in English as Khalil Gibran, was a Lebanese-American writer, poet, visual artist, and philosopher. Born in Bsharri, Lebanon, he immigrated to the United States with his mother in 1895. He is best known for his 1923 book "The Prophet," a collection of 26 prose poems that has become one of the best-selling books of all time, translated into over 100 languages.
