Born in San Francisco and adopted shortly afterwards, Jobs was a pioneer of the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s, along with Steve Wozniak. He co-founded Apple in 1976, was ousted in 1985, and returned in 1997 to lead the company's remarkable turnaround. Jobs was responsible for revolutionary products including the Apple II, Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. He also founded NeXT and was chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios. Known for his perfectionism and innovative vision, Jobs transformed multiple industries including personal computing, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.
