# Tang Jie Tang Jie (Jie Tang, born 1977) is a Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and Director of the Foundation Model Research Center at Tsinghua's Institute for AI. He co-founded [[Zhipu AI (Z.ai)]] in 2019 out of Tsinghua's Knowledge Engineering Group (KEG), where he is chief scientist.
