Shipper's structural claim is that scaling agents instead of hiring specialists blurs job titles until everyone is managing AI tools, which favours generalists. Whether or not the "zero code" framing survives scrutiny, the composition is the signal: five shipped products and a daily publication from 15 people is not a normal ratio, and it's the ratio everyone is trying to reach. ## The model worth studying Every is a media company that turned its editorial standards into software. The products are downstream of the writing: Spiral encodes how Every thinks about prose, Cora encodes how they think about attention. That's a defensible position in a market where everyone rents the same models. The moat isn't technical. It's having opinions worth encoding and a corpus to encode them from. Anyone with a body of published work and a clear point of view is sitting on the same asset and mostly not using it.
