# Guitarix Guitarix is a free, open-source (GPL-2.0) virtual guitar amp for Linux, built on the JACK Audio Connection Kit. The signal path is simple: a mono guitar signal comes in from the sound card, goes through an amp section and an effects rack (each routable separately), then leaves in stereo via JACK. ## Key features - **25+ built-in effect modules**: noise gate through modulation (flanger, phaser, auto-wah, etc.) - **Low latency**: usually under 10 ms on a properly configured system - **LV2 plugin suite**: load the amps and effects in any LV2-compatible DAW (e.g. [[Reaper]], Ardour) - **Hosts other plugins**: LADSPA and LV2 - **JACK interop**: plays nicely with Rakarrack, Ardour and other JACK apps - **Platforms**: Linux first (most distributions package it). You can also build it on other UNIX-likes (BSD, macOS) Developed by Hermann Meyer (brummer), Andreas Degert, Pete Shorthose and Markus Schmidt. ## References - https://guitarix.org/ ## Related - [[Neural Amp Modeler]] - [[Reaper]]
