# Image Converter plugin for Obsidian The Image Converter plugin for Obsidian processes images as they enter the vault: pasted or dropped images get converted (WEBP, JPG, PNG), compressed, and resized automatically. It also renames images with configurable patterns, controls the output folder, supports drag-resize and alignment of images in notes, and includes basic annotation and cropping tools. Interesting because attachments are the silent weight of any vault (see [[Obsidian Vault]]): unconverted screenshots pile up fast, and compressing at capture time beats cleaning up later.
